About Us
We began as the Essence Development Corporation (EDC) of Surrey, BC in 1986. EDC created and manufactured the Royal Piper™ and Liquor Quik™ brands of essences and liqueur kits from 1986 to 2000, when the company was sold to Eastern Beer & Wine Supplies Ltd. of Lower Sackville, NS. We moved EDC and merged both entities into Winemakeri Inc. As a new company, we consolidated the two liqueur essence brands to focus on developing the Liquor Quik™ brand. After 28 years, Liquor Quik™ is the #1 selling liqueur essence brand in North America. SuperYeast™ is the #1 selling turbo yeast brand in North America.
Since 2005, we have been using Dr. Petersen as a liqueur formulation consultant, who was the former R&D and manufacturing partner for Gert Strand AB Prestige™ essences. With Dan’s permission (he still co-owns the Prestige™ liqueur brand in Sweden), we developed the Liquor Quik™ Prestige Series 50ml and 1L line of specialty food & liqueur essences, for the Italian specialty retail trade and culinary food trades. Even though our labels may not reflect it, all of our essences are of “Black Label Quality”, which means we only use the highest quality 100% natural essences and extracts in our formulations. We co-pack many essences for private label clients who sell through various trade channels from home distilling to online novelty/gift to specialty trade show exhibitions. Winemakeri was the first distributor in Canada to import and package turbo yeasts, starting in 1996 under the SuperYeast™ brand. To date, we have developed 12 different types of specialty yeasts, nutrients & special clearing agents for the home distilling, distilling, brewery (alco-malt) and winery markets. We are also one of the largest yeast/nutrient blenders and wine chemical co-packers in the industry for distilling and winery ingredients.
